Zodiacal light is a faint, roughly triangular, whitish glow seen in the night sky which appears to extend up from the vicinity of the sun along the ecliptic or zodiac. Caused by sunlight scattered by space dust in the zodiacal cloud, it is so faint that either moonlight or light pollution renders it invisible. This image was taken at 5:25 a.m. Exposure time is 1 min at ISO 1600

This is a combination of 21 two minute exposures, taken with Canon 40D digital camera mounted on Meade LX75 mount for tracking. The images were taken between 22:00 on 12 Aug and 05:00 on 13 Aug 2010 (LST).
