The Graet Orion Nebula is a diffuse nebula situated south of Orion's Belt. It isvisible to the naked eye. M42 is located at a distance of 1,350 light years and is the closest region of massive star formation to Earth. The M42 nebula is estimated to be 24 light years across. This is RGB image, exp.times are 90 min in each channel.

M81, seen here at left, is a grand design spiral galaxy that forms a physical pair with irregular galaxy M82. They are separated by 150,000 light years. This is LRGB image taken with Barlow Corrector on ASA 12 inch Astrograph. Resulting focal ratio is F/6.3. Exposure times are resp. 60, 30, 30 and 30 min. 

The Rosette Nebula is a large, circular H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros. This is a narrowband image taken from the center of the city. Exposure times are 60 min in each H alpha, S II and O III filter.

This amazing area of sky is located in the constellation of Orion. Beautiful swirling clouds of dust and gas form bright and dark nebulae. These areas are stellar nurseries where stars form when the clouds condense under the influence of gravity. B33, the Horsehead Nebula, is at lower left, and M42, the Great Nebula in Orion, is at upper right.The Horsehead is a dark nebula made of opaque obscuring dust which blocks the light from the nebulae and stars behind it. It is located about 1,500 light years away.Both the Horsehead Nebula and Orion Nebula are part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud.This wide field image is RGB composite - 30 min in each filter

The nebula Messier 78 (also known as M 78 or NGC 2068) is a reflection nebula in the constellation Orion. M78 is the brightest diffuse reflection nebula of a group of nebulae that include NGC 2064, NGC 2067 and NGC 2071. This group belongs to the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex and is about 1,600 light years distant from Earth. RGB image, 50 min exp. time in each colr.

The Pinwheel Galaxy (also known as Messier 101 or NGC 5457) is a face-on spiral galaxy distanced 25 million light-years (eight megaparsecs) away in the constellation Ursa Major. This is a LRGB image resp. 20, 20 30 and 30 minutes.

This is a narrowband image of the Soul Nebula - an emission nebulae in Cassiopeia. H alpha, S II and O III images were combined to obtain this composit. Exposition times are 30 min in each filter. The conditions were heavy light pollution (centre of the city) and almost full Moon.
